Students at Gordano Sixth Form in Portishead have been celebrating yet another outstanding set of A Level Results.
Yet again, more than three quarters of the grades achieved were A*-C grades, and for the eighth consecutive year the pass rate at A-E grades exceeded 99%. These were comfortably achieved by the largest cohort in the school’s history.
A record eighteen students achieved at least three A grades. A host of exceptional performances was topped by Dan Wilson who achieved 5 full A Levels, with 4 A*s and 1 A, and goes on to study Physics at Oxford University. James Douglas and Alexander Mildon both achieved 3 A*s and 1 A. James will study Medicine atBristolUniversity, and Alexander will read Chemistry atBath.
Headteacher,Gary Lewis, expressed his delight with another strong year of achievement at Gordano Sixth Form, “It has been great to maintain this quality and strength at a time when we have been growing as a Sixth Form. Ofsted recognised the outstanding nature of our provision when they visited last April and we have been very excited about opening our new Sixth Form facilities next month but achieving the best grades for our students is our key focus. I am so pleased to see that the hard work and talent of our students and their teachers has yielded success.”
